On December 18th, Guangdong held a grand gathering to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the country's reform and opening-up, to get to the heart of the speech President Xi delivered at the national level gathering.
Li Xi, Secretary of the CPC Guangdong Provincial Committee, attended and addressed the meeting.
President Xi‘s speech in Beijing, reviewed the development process of reform and opening-up, summarized the great achievements and valuable experiences of the past 40 years, and putn forward the goal of deepening reform and expanding the opening-up, Li said.
According to Li, to implement the sprit of President Xi’s speech, Guangdong should take on the challenge of deepening reform and expand opening-up in an all-round way under the guide of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era.
Hence, the province should reflect on the totality of the experience and inspiration gained from the past 40 years and be aware of opportunities, challenges, missions and tasks that will come in the next round of reform and opening-up for a new era.
In detail, Guangdong will take part in the construction of Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, focusing on key development principles including innovation, harmony, ‘greenness’, openness and sharing, seeking balanced development opportunities such as the rural revitalization strategy and ensure the continued leadership of the CPC.
